Hi there, I’m Jamie.
I am a UX designer based in the Northern Virginia/Washington D.C. area. I create thoughtful experiences that are built for everyone to use and enjoy. All in all, I believe that, as a designer, I have a mission to genuinely care for the people I design for.
Growing up, whenever someone asked me what my dream was, I would always say, “I want to be an artist”. I was constantly immersed in creative activities - drawing, painting, designing, and daydreaming about what I could create next. While in the midst of all that, technology started to become a big part of my life as well, and my interest in the constantly evolving digital world continued to grow.
Previously, I worked as an assistant to a freelance designer and I am currently working as an application support analyst for a healthcare management application. My experiences in these roles have sharpened my skills in digital design, working in a fast paced, high-pressure environment, empathizing with people, doing research and analysis, identifying goals and needs, and efficiently finding solutions to a broad variety of problems and user pain points.
How did I get into UX?
Something that I truly enjoyed throughout all the different experiences I’ve had are the meaningful interactions with the people that I work with. I also really just started to miss working in a more imaginative field and using my creative skills. As a consequence of my realization, I chose to pursue this new path into UX Design where I could utilize both of my passions in a new purposeful way. I want to explore design through the emotional, functional, and aesthetic spectrums and have the opportunity to make a positive impact on people’s lives.

Food & Desserts 🍩I’m always on the lookout for the next best food, dessert, and coffee spots in the DMV area. I love taking and editing photos of places I visit and food that I eat which I document on my instagram.
Games 🎮 I love playing games with friends in my downtime. Currently playing: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, League of Legends, Stardew Valley, and Overwatch. I also enjoy playing board games!
Makeup 💄Using the face as a canvas for makeup is a hobby of mine. Similar to designing, I enjoy using makeup to express beauty in different ways - experimenting with different types of products and color palettes.
Piano 🎹I currently play the keyboard as part of my local church’s worship band and have been playing since middle school. Serving the Church is a big part of my life and who I am.
