I’m Jamie, a UX Designer with a heart for serving other people and crafting thoughtful, functional, and aesthetically pleasing experiences.

I recently came across this definition of a designer and it has stuck with me ever since. A designer is not someone who simply creates things or solves problems, but someone who truly has people’s best interests at heart.
As a designer, I want to create things that truly improves the lives of others - and that’s why I absolutely love the values and the mission that Figma stands behind - to make design accessible for everyone.
What better way is there to be a great host, than to be part of a group of people that brings people together and helps people design the very products or experiences that changes others’ lives?
A bit about me
I believe that high-impact, meaningful experiences stem from having a genuine heart for the people you are designing for.
I’ve had experiences designing websites for small businesses, and currently, I work closely with users in the healthcare industry with their day-to-day workflow, resolving issues that they face while using our application. During this time, I also recently graduated from a UX design intensive program where I’ve cultivated the skills to solve problems, end-to-end, with a human-centered approach.
I’m ready to bring my problem-solving experiences in both the technical and creative fields to Figma to craft thoughtful, functional, and truly impactful experiences as a UX Designer.
My highlights
Creative
Ever since I can remember, I’ve grew up wanting to be a creative. I loved to create things - from drawing to building websites, painting, playing the piano, doing makeup, and so many other things. This passion has been with me throughout my lifetime and I truly find joy and thrive in creative environments.
Empathy
I have a heart for serving other people and make it a personal mission to love other people. I enjoy the process of synthesizing research to uncover insights, and using those insights to make informed decisions in order to design meaningful and impactful experiences for the people that use them. All in all, I believe that human-centered design is key to creating products or experiences that bring the most value to the people who use them.
Flexible
I’m familiar with all parts of the design process from research to uncovering insights, brainstorming, strategy, information architecture, interaction design, wireframing, prototyping, usability testing, and sharing my work. You can view my Homely project where I worked on designing a furniture app end-to-end to help users find the perfect furniture for their homes utilizing an AR feature.
Teamwork
I’ve had many opportunities to collaborate with team members, other departments, and clients to achieve a unified goal. On the day-to-day I work closely with my own team to solve problems, and frequently collaborate with developers to resolve more technical issues. I also have experience leading clients meetings and working closely with them to make ensure that client goals are being met. While I’m a strong independent worker, I am just as effective working within a team and enjoy collaboration.
Growth
I enjoy challenges that help me learn and grow professionally, and as a human-being. I believe that there isn’t an end to learning (there’s so much out there!), and I have a hunger to discover those things that I don’t know quite yet. As a self-motivated, passionate, and hard-working individual, I strive and make the efforts to become a better designer, and a better human-being.

Food & Desserts 🍩I’m always on the lookout for the next best food, dessert, and coffee spots in the DMV area. I love taking and editing photos of places I visit and food that I eat which I document on my instagram.
Games 🎮 I love playing games in my downtime. Currently playing: Genshin Impact, Call of Duty, League of Legends, Stardew Valley, and Overwatch. I also enjoy playing board games!
Makeup 💄Using the face as a canvas for makeup is a hobby of mine. Similar to designing, I enjoy using makeup to express beauty in different ways - experimenting with different types of products and color palettes.
Piano 🎹I currently play the keyboard as part of my local church’s worship band and have been playing since middle school. Serving the Church is a big part of my life and who I am.
